This is Hanren Chang, a junior at my school. On Saturday, March 2nd, she was out celebrating her 17th  birthday. She was coming home and had just gotten off the bus when she crossed a busy intersection and was hit by a drunk driver. She later died on Sunday. Hanren was a one of a kind girl who was loved by everyone. She would make you smile and bring your hopes up. She would hug you when you needed a hug and the worst part is knowing that right now she needs a hug but we can’t give her one. She was an excellent team mate on cross country and track and made everyone feel welcomed and invited. She was the kindest and sweetest girl I have ever met and I cannot imagine how such a girl was ever damned with this tragedy. This intersection has pedestrian crossing signs but no one ever pays attention to them and almost all drivers go way aboe the speed limit. Everyone is devastated by this news and the worst part is that this was preventable.  So Tumblr, I know you guys managed to help a girl get a fluffy chicken so I know you guys have the power to make change happen. 1. Please sign this petition tohave a traffic sign installed on the intersection where she was hit. Sign Here. I know this petition mainly concerns SF residents but at least a signal boost would help. 2. Please donate some money to her family for her memorial service. Her family is in a time of need during this tragedy that was struck upon her family and friends. Every cent counts. OR give it a signal boost, please. Her life was taken away way before her time.
